Question: I'm from British Columbia, Canada, and want to consider whether or not God is calling me to be involved in progressing in the study, practice, performance of sacred music. What do y'all suggest? I'm an ear trained musician with the bare minimum of theory behind me, however, I've a heart full of inspiration for these wonderful old forms of great music.

Can anyone in the society explain the authenticity of sacred music in the celebration of the Holy Mass? I can't explain why no one is allowed to use accompaniment recordings during the celebration of the Holy Mass. My brother and sister told me about it but they haven't explained why there should be no recordings during the sacred performances. Can you answer this question? My brother told me that they may use recordings only if there's an extreme necessity or demands of the church. But why are recordings 'violations' to what church men called authenticity of sacred music in the liturgy of the Most Holy Eucharist?
