Since we are approaching the year B John 6 Eucharistic Discourse through the month of August, do any of you have ideas for appropriate organ music for these Sundays?

I know of a few things ... Messiaen's "Heavenly Banquet", and some settings by Gerald Near based on Adoro Te Devote and Ave Verum Corpus ... but other than that, what is there? Help me jog my memory if you can ... It seems to me that Langlais, Widor, and Dupre, et al must have done some settings that are Eucharistic in nature.

Thanks! That list is greatly helpful.
  • Let me add one piece to the above Guilmant list: "Communion on 'Ecce panis angelorum' " from "L'Organiste Pratique," Vol. V, Op. 59, no. 3. It's based on the final portion of the Corpus Christi sequence. A lot of Guilmant's stuff is pleasant, but no more. This piece, however, is a hidden gem. You can make it work on two manuals, but it asks for three.
